The Spicy Watermelon Margarita is the kind of summer cocktail that hits every note at once:
sweet, zesty, and just a little fiery.
Fresh watermelon brings a juicy, cooling sweetness, while jalapeño adds a kick that wakes up
your taste buds. A splash of tequila gives it that classic margarita backbone, making every sip feel bright, balanced, and refreshing.
Why This Drink Works
The magic of the Spicy Watermelon Margarita is in its balance. Sweet watermelon softens the heat of the jalapeño, while lime juice adds a crisp citrus edge that keeps the drink from feeling too sugary. The tequila ties everything together with a smooth, earthy finish that makes each flavor pop. It is refreshing, a little bold, and incredibly easy to love on a hot day.
Ingredients
2 oz tequila
2 oz triple sec
1.5 oz lime juice
Sliced jalapeños
4 watermelon cubes
Ice
Instructions
1. Muddle watermelon cubes and sliced jalapeños in a cocktail shaker
2. Add tequila, triple sec, and lime juice to the shaker
3. Add ice and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds
4. Strain over fresh ice in a glass
Pro Tips
Use more or less jalapeño depending on how spicy you want your drink
Rim the glass with salt or tajín for extra flavor
Choose ripe, fresh watermelon for the best sweetness and color
Garnish with a watermelon wedge, lime wheel, or jalapeño slice
